About Us

Who We Are

We Care Society (WCS) is a registered and reputed professional National Level Development Organization (NGO) established during the year 2004 operating from Bangalore, Karnataka, India. Participation, Partnership and Empowerment are the guiding principles of WCS. It has been working on the areas of Sustainable Agriculture, Agri-business, Rural Development and Natural Resource Management. This organization has also been providing consultancy services to the various State Government Departments, Agro Based Industries, and International Development Agencies on Field activities, Monitoring, Evaluation studies, base line survey and capacity building activities concerning with Sustainable Agriculture, Agribusiness and Rural Development issues.

In addition to Karnataka, India, WCS has also been involved in training / implementation of projects in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamilnadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhyapradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. It has also been invited as resource organization to implement Farmer Field Schools (FFS) along with its partner organisation in many programs. WCS continues to offer Agribusiness consultancy to large and medium scale programmes undertaken by many organisations and also Organic inputs providers such as Prathista Industries Ltd., Hyderabad, India and to several Agriprenuers.

WCS since its inception has been focusing its attention on Sustainable Agricultural Development programmes majorly on Productivity enhancement Initiatives with eco friendly technologies with supply chain management with regard to crops such as cotton, sugarcane, maize, paddy and ground nut operating in different states. Of late, more attention is paid on Better Cotton Initiative Programme which is being operated with about 10,000 farmers at present and likely to be expanded to about 20,000 farmers during 2016-17 seasons. This programme is being operated in Raichur District of Karnataka. WCS also has been engaged in capacity building programmes of Farmers and Farm Women, Self Helf Group members, Agri clinics and Agribusiness centres programme for unemployed agricultural graduates and Entrepreneurship Skill Development Programmes of rural youth. In addition to organizing public awareness campaigns on Decent Work as well as workshops and seminars on Farmer Rights, Bio technology, Skill Development, Renewable Energy, Integrated Farming and Agripreneurship.

The staff and consultants have 10-30 years of experience on the concerns of Participatory Approach, Agribusiness, Community Mobilization, Information and Communication, Gender, Agriculture, Health, Education and Natural Resource Management including Irrigation and Water Shed Development and Farmer Field Schools (FFS).

We are building stronger linkages with other partners in the development business focusing on comparative advantage of each. Hence all our initiatives are interlinked to each other in terms of Socio Economical, Environmental and Market Linkage aspects.
